Responsibilities
Our Admissions Volunteer Coordinators (AVCs) are the main point of contact between the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and their local Notre Dame Clubs. They, alongside Outreach Volunteers and Alumni Group Student Recruitment Directors, are key partners with the admissions office in providing prospective students with information about Notre Dame. We encourage our AVCs to form relationships with their area's admissions counselor and be active members of their local Notre Dame Club.
We ask that all admissions volunteers stay current on any updates to Notre Dame's academics, student life, and admissions and financial aid information. This information is provided through training webinars, quarterly e-newsletters, and the admissions office's social media accounts.
The number of your club's activities may vary based on club size, yet we hope that every club will, at a minimum, contact their admitted students via email and/or phone. For those looking to serve as the Admissions Volunteer Coordinator for their club or as a Student Recruitment Director for an alumni group, below are a list of responsibilities common to either role.
Manage volunteer outreach to prospective students in your club area
- Contact with admitted students (phone calls, emails, receptions)
- Participation in college fairs
Be informed of current admissions and financial aid information and have an awareness of current student life (academics, student life, etc.)
- Read quarterly email newsletter
- Review admissions website
- Review financial aid website
- Follow @NDadmissions on social media (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
Establish relationship with admissions counselor
- Assist with visits to your area
- Refer questions to counselor
- Connect the student with the area's admissions counselor for specific questions
Submit information as requested
- Data on admitted student calls/emails
- Follow-up on college fairs
- Information as requested in quarterly newsletter
Complete Training
- Attend training webinars
Sign confidentiality agreement
- Volunteers with access to admitted student data must sign a confidentiality agreement
Active member of Notre Dame Club
- Be a member of their local Notre Dame Club
- Serve on board and keep board members informed of general admissions information
- Recruit members to volunteer
